Alison Stephens

1970 – 2010

Ali was professor of mandolin at Trinity College, London and was probably the finest mandolion player in the UK.

She made her profressional debut aged 17 in the Vivaldi Concerto for Two Mandolins at The Barbican, London. She played with every major orchestra in every major hall all over the world. Her album, Music from the novels of Louis de Bernieres, released in October 1999, is one of Chandos Records' biggest selling albums.

Ali was working with Mike Maran on their new production of A Christmas Carol when she died on October 10th 2010.
